Sarah Lowther introduces the format of "Going for Gold", a webinar that hosts major investor Jim Mellon as well as three gold companies with exciting projects in development.

Kicking off with a Q&A session with Jim Mellon who gives his outlook on gold, the webinar will see the following companies presenting: 1) Glint, a financial services company with a range of board members from the World Gold Council, 2) Barton Gold, which has 20,000 metres of drilling underway, and 3) Condor Gold with the construction of its "La India" project ready.

Jim Mellon continues to consider gold (as well as other previous metals) an integral part of any investor portfolio. Gold is seen as having proven its worth during the recent inflationary period, particularly in comparison with currencies (except the dollar and ruble) as well as crypto currencies. Jim Mellon also expects an upsurge of the gold price well above USD 2000 before year-end 2022.

Jim Mellon believes that as currencies begin to strengthen against the US dollar, the price for gold will go up. He recommends that 5-10% of any investor's portfolio should comprise precious metals. His own portion of gold investments includes futures, shares from large gold companies, and physical gold.

Jim Mellon believes that the best timing for selling gold is at times of hysteria; investors shouldn't be tempted to go in at "peak hysteria". With an expected high upsurge in the gold price in the relatively near future, Mellon also expects hysteria to follow.

Founder and CEO Jason Cozens gives an overview of financial services company Glint. Glint helps its customers buy, save, send and spend real gold and other currencies digitally. Reintroducing gold as the most universally trusted form of money, the company is a hybrid between a payments and a trading platform.

Glint's philosophical belief is for gold to be the ultimate form of money. The company therefore currently does not have any plans to diversify into other precious metals and commodities.

Glint successfully got out of administration in 2019 when forensic audits demonstrated that its systems and processes were safe and that all gold was safeguarded. Founder and CEO Jason Cozens stresses that the gold belongs to Glint's customers, not to the company itself.

Glint charges 0.5% for buying gold; there is no fee for spending or withdrawing gold. Selling gold into fiat currency occurs a 0.5% fee while a fee of 0.2% per month applies for gold to be stored with and insured by Lloyds of London.

Managing Director and CEO Alexander Scanlon introduces Australian gold exploration company Barton Gold. Barton Gold has built a 1.1 million ounce gold platform in South Australia. Focussing on long-term value, the company aims to develop the region's largest independent gold producer within five years.

Historically an underinvested and underdeveloped region, Barton Gold has seen an increase in awareness in South Australia among other gold explorers. The company has received almost AUD 1 million in grants from the South Australian government which allowed it to establish a strategic footprint in the region before everyone else.

Barton Gold raised AUD 15 million when it IPOed, with AUD 11.2 million remaining as of June 2022. The company has a strong focus on generating income from its existing assets, as well as efficient spending. While it does not rule out significant capital raisings in the future, Barton Gold generally aims to reduce the amount of capital required.

Chairman and CEO Mark Child presents gold exploration and development company Condor Gold. Condor Gold owns the La India open pit gold project in Nicaragua. According to the results of a feasibility study published in September 2022, the La India open pit supports a probable mineral reserve of 7.3 million tonnes at 2.56 grams of gold per tonne for 602,000 ounces of gold.

Condor Gold expects a duration of 3-4 months for financing to come together, and a construction time of around 12-18 months. The company foresees a 60/40 or 70/30 debt-to-equity ratio, and considers raising equity on the TSX market.

Condor Gold has a positive outlook for the gold price development in 2023, and thus considers a share price of over 1 GBP as feasible. The company admits that politics in Nicaragua have been challenging, with a discounting effect, but anticipates that if trade took an interest, this would be done with a long-term view, considering Condor Gold's valuation independent from its market capitalisation.
