Symphony Environmental Technologies sees the biggest challenge in marketing d2w – one of the most established oxo-biodegradable plastic technologies – at a macro level. Using independent scientific evidence to support its product claims, the company engages with the UK government to secure a mandate for the use of this technology in all plastics.

Symphony Environmental Technologies has its revenues mainly outside the EU, as regulations in other countries are more amenable to its technologies. The company brings two technologies together that deal with the environment, as well as food waste and food protection, thus providing more value than environmental protection alone. It is also able to move into other sectors such as health.

Symphony Environmental Technologies currently does not see a cash burn. The company made a small loss in both 2020 and the first half of 2021, and has sufficient headroom within its own cash flow and banking facilities. Its gross profits are spent on market development and R&D. Symphony Environmental Technologies considers itself in a good position for 2022, as an increasing number of governments cannot ban plastics and are thus supporting the idea of its technology.
